11 weeks

Lyssa rolled over for the first time this week on Thursday. I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me the first time, but no- she did again. Three times in fact. She is so strong, holding herself up on her elbows and looking around with rapt attention... She is so sweet!!
Also discovered this week was the thumb. Particularly her left one. Prediction of a thumb-sucking leftie? I don't know but it sure appears that way at this point. We will see if it sticks. She really likes her paci too but can't seem to keep it in her mouth very well. I'm hoping she will as she gets older...

Church

Lyssa had her first outing to church this past Sabbath. She slept most the time in her carseat- during the service, sermon, and potluck after. Everyone oohed and aahed over her as is to be expected with a new baby... However it was special as we are quite fond of our church family; so having them show such love for her already is very precious to us.
She looked beautiful in her pretty ruffled jumper, sweater, and Sabbath shoes; she was accessorized with a pearl bracelet and yellow flower headband and wrapped up warm in her fleecy soft lamb coat. She made quite a picture...

10 weeks

Lyssa is doing push-ups! She is getting stronger every day in her arms and legs; it's just a matter of time before she's rolling over and sitting up on her own.
The biggest development I've seen this week is response to facial expressions and conversation. She tries to mimic both, especially with her tongue and the shape of her mouth. Her conversations consist of cooing, humming, gurgling, and oohing... It's so cute we can't help but laugh at her precious little attempts at communication.
Her sleeping cycle is becoming more normal. She goes to bed so well at night and if she wakes up for a feeding, she goes right back down without a peep. Her day naps are more sporadic; sometimes she won't go to sleep between meals. But when she's awake she is always very sweet and happy; when she starts to fuss, we know its nap time and she conks right out.

9 weeks

Baby girl is such a sweetie- she is so happy and content. Her little smiles and coos are the sweetest thing to her mommy who just can't get enough of them.
She loves going out with us in her baby bjorn. She typically talks and hums until she falls asleep; her nap could last for hours...
