Mirror mirror

Lyssa discovered the mirror last night. The faces were classic. Unfortunately we only caught a few of them in picture...

5 weeks

Lyssa had her 1 month checkup on Thursday and is on the 95 percentile for weight and height, measuring in at 11lbs and 23in. Milestones for this month are smiles and eye contact, which we've started to see much to our delight. She also holds her head up every chance she gets.

A thoughtful visit

Aunt Becca came to meet her darling little niece over the long holiday weekend- and also took care of mommy and daddy in the process. It was pure joy to have her here and we're going to miss her now that she's leaving.

Progress!

Baby girl is holding her head up by herself now! She pushes up with her arms to see the world and keeps that little head steady and strong. Her ability to find and maintain eye contact is also vastly improving- its so sweet that she is able to hold our gazes with hers.

4 weeks

They have flown by... Lyssa is now lifting her head, making eye contact and following voices, spending more time awake, and starting to calm herself for bed (hallelujah!!). She's also had a few smiles and giggles, but she doesn't know what they are yet. However, they are so precious!!
She got to meet Aunties Denise and Becca on Friday- Denise came up for a visit; Becca is up for a long weekend. We spent the afternoon and evening at the beach- Lyssa had her first dip in the ocean (toes only) and experiencing the sandy beach. She did so well!
